Subaru Solterra 2023-2026 Owner's Manual: Immobilizer system

The Subaru Solterra is equipped with advanced key technology featuring integrated transponder chips that communicate with the vehicle’s onboard system, ensuring that the EV system can only be started with a properly registered key. This significantly enhances protection against unauthorized use.

Always take your keys with you and never leave them inside the Subaru Solterra when exiting the vehicle, as this may increase the risk of theft.

While the immobilizer system in the Subaru Solterra provides a high level of theft prevention, it is important to understand that no system can guarantee complete protection against all forms of vehicle theft.

Operating the system

When the power switch is turned to the OFF position, the indicator light begins to flash, signaling that the immobilizer system in the Subaru Solterra is actively engaged and protecting the vehicle.

Once the power switch is moved to ACC or ON, the indicator light will turn off, indicating that the system has been successfully deactivated and normal operation is permitted.
