Subaru Solterra 2023-2026 Owner's Manual: Alarm

The Subaru Solterra alarm system combines visual and audible alerts to immediately notify of any unauthorized intrusion attempts.

The alarm in the Subaru Solterra will activate under the following conditions when armed:

• If any locked door or the rear hatch is opened without using the proper entry system or remote key (doors will automatically re-lock for protection).
• If the hood is opened unexpectedly.

Setting/deactivating/stopping the alarm system

■ Items to check before locking the vehicle

Before activating the alarm system in your Subaru Solterra, ensure the following precautions are met to avoid accidental activation and to maintain optimal security:

• No occupants remain inside the vehicle.
• All windows are fully closed.
• No valuable or visible personal belongings are left inside.

■ Setting

Close all doors, the rear hatch, and the hood, then lock the vehicle. The Subaru Solterra alarm system will automatically arm itself after approximately 30 seconds.

The indicator light transitions from steady illumination to flashing, confirming that the system is fully activated.

■ Deactivating or stopping

To deactivate or stop the alarm system in the Subaru Solterra, perform one of the following actions:

• Unlock the doors using the authorized key or remote.
• Switch the power to ACC or ON, or start the EV system.

  (The alarm will automatically stop within a few seconds after performing these actions.)

■ Setting the alarm

The alarm system can still be activated in the Subaru Solterra even if the hood is open, provided that all doors are securely closed.

■ System maintenance

The alarm system, like other security features of the Subaru Solterra, is designed to operate without the need for routine maintenance.

■ Triggering of the alarm

The alarm may activate in the following scenarios. Stopping the alarm will simultaneously deactivate the system:

• The vehicle doors are unlocked using the mechanical key instead of the electronic entry system.

• A person inside the vehicle opens a door, rear hatch, or hood, or manually unlocks the vehicle while the system is armed.

• The 12-volt battery is disconnected, recharged, or replaced while the Subaru Solterra is locked.

■ Alarm-operated door lock

In certain situations, the Subaru Solterra may automatically lock its doors to prevent unauthorized entry when the alarm system is triggered:

• If someone inside the vehicle unlocks the door while the alarm is active.
• If a person inside attempts to unlock doors during an active alarm state.
• During 12-volt battery replacement or charging procedures.

■ To ensure the system operates correctly

Do not modify or remove the alarm system components in your Subaru Solterra.

Any unauthorized modification may compromise system reliability and security performance.

Pre-alarm

If the vehicle is unlocked using the mechanical key while the alarm system is being armed, the Subaru Solterra will emit a pre-alarm warning sound for approximately 10 seconds.

If the situation is not corrected within this time, the full alarm will activate, providing both audible and visual alerts.

To cancel or stop the pre-alarm in the Subaru Solterra, perform one of the following:

• Close all doors and lock them using the smart entry system or remote control.
• Turn the power switch to ACC or ON, or start the EV system.

  (The alarm system will deactivate shortly after these actions are completed.)
