Mazda 3 Service Manual: Bass Box Inspection
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable..
2. Disconnect the connector..
3. Verify the resistance between bass-box terminals.

If not within the specification, replace the bass-box.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable..
2. Disconnect the connector.
3. Remove the short-cord.
4. Remove the bolt.
5. Remove the bass-box.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal. ...

1. Remove the aerodynamic under cover No.2 and the splash shield as a single

3. Disconnect the drive shaft (LH) from the MTX..

5. Remove the joint shaft..
6. Remove the oil seal (LH).

Vacuum Pump Removal/Installation [Skyactiv G 2.0]
1. Remove the plug hole plate..
2. Remove the battery and battery tray..
3. Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose from the
vacuum pump.
4. Remove in the order shown in the table.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
