Digital key usage conditions

To activate and use the Digital Key feature in the Subaru Solterra, the following requirements must be fulfilled:

The SUBARU SOLTERRA CONNECT Mobile App must be installed on a compatible smartphone, the vehicle must be registered within the user's account profile, Remote Services must be subscribed to, and Digital Key enrollment must be completed successfully.

Once configured, the Subaru Solterra Digital Key enables seamless interaction with the vehicle, reducing reliance on physical keys while maintaining full functionality.

Digital key precautions

• The Digital Key for the Subaru Solterra operates only when communication between the smartphone and the server is active. The feature may become unavailable if the device lacks internet connectivity.

  For this reason, always carry the physical electronic key when traveling to areas with limited or unstable network coverage.

• If the smartphone battery is fully discharged, it cannot be used as a Digital Key for the Subaru Solterra.

  Ensure the device is sufficiently charged before leaving to avoid inconvenience.

• The Digital Key functionality is directly linked to the Smart Key system of the Subaru Solterra.

  If the Smart Key system is disabled through vehicle settings, the Digital Key will also become inactive.

• In certain environments with poor radio signal conditions, the Subaru Solterra Digital Key may not operate reliably.
• When transferring ownership of the Subaru Solterra, all registered Digital Keys must be deleted to maintain security.
• If the Subaru Solterra is not used for 14 days or longer, the Digital Key may not reconnect automatically.

  As a result, there may be a delay before the system responds after touching the door handle.

• Some Digital Key services may be temporarily unavailable during scheduled server maintenance.

  However, previously registered Digital Keys will remain functional during such periods.

• A smartphone with the Subaru Solterra Digital Key App active has full access to essential vehicle functions such as locking/unlocking doors and starting the EV system.

  Exercise caution to prevent loss or theft of the smartphone, as it effectively acts as a vehicle key. In case of loss, contact your SUBARU dealer immediately.

• When visiting a SUBARU dealer for maintenance or service, always bring the original electronic key in addition to the Digital Key.
• Using only the Digital Key with the Subaru Solterra does not trigger certain visual cues, such as exterior lighting when approaching the vehicle.

  Additionally, some functions—such as the power back door close-and-lock feature—may not be available when relying solely on the Digital Key.
