A hot transaxle and ATF can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool.
1. Perform the following procedures.
a. Remove the battery cover..
b. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
c. Remove the aerodynamic under cover NO.2..
2. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

4. Disconnect the control valve body connector.
5. Remove the hose clamp.
6. Cut the oil seal using a utility knife as shown in the following illustration.

Variable valve timing actuator can not be disassembled because it is a
precision unit.
