1. Remove the generator drive belt with the A/C drive belt still installed and set it out of the way..
2. Verify that the drive belt auto tensioner moves smoothly in the operational direction.

If it does not move smoothly, replace the drive belt auto tensioner..
3. Turn the drive belt auto tensioner pulley by hand and verify that it rotates smoothly.
If it does not move smoothly, replace the drive belt auto tensioner..
4. Install the generator drive belt..

1. Remove the drive belt..
2. Verify that the drive belt auto tensioner moves smoothly in the operational direction.

Replace the drive belt auto tensioner if necessary..
3. Rotate the drive belt auto tensioner pulley by hand and verify that it rotates smoothly.
Replace the drive belt auto tensioner if necessary..
4. Install the drive belt..

1. Inspect the column bearing for excessive play and damage.
2. Verify that the measurement of the steering shaft indicated in the figure
is as specified.
