Subaru Solterra 2023-2026 Owner's Manual: Advanced Park cancelation/ suspension

■ Assistance will be canceled when

Under the following conditions, the Subaru Solterra Advanced Park system will automatically terminate its operation. When this occurs, immediately take control by firmly holding the steering wheel and pressing the brake pedal to safely stop the Subaru Solterra.

Since the automated assistance has been canceled, you should either restart the Advanced Park procedure or complete the parking maneuver manually using the steering controls of the Subaru Solterra.

■ Assistance will be suspended when

In the following situations, Subaru Solterra Advanced Park operation will be temporarily paused. Guidance will remain available, and assistance can be resumed by following the instructions displayed on the multimedia screen.

If assistance is suspended, changing the shift position twice while pressing the brake pedal will result in full cancellation. However, if suspension occurs due to a shift change, altering the shift position once more will cancel the function.

■ Remote control function assistance will be canceled when (if equipped)

The Subaru Solterra Remote control function will be automatically canceled under the following circumstances. After cancellation, re-enter the vehicle with the electronic key and complete the maneuver manually if necessary.

■ Remote control function assistance will be suspended when (if equipped)

In the following scenarios, the Subaru Solterra Remote control operation will pause temporarily. Once conditions normalize, assistance may be resumed if safe to do so.

The Subaru Solterra Advanced Park and Remote control systems are designed with multiple safety interruption layers to ensure maximum protection. However, consistent driver awareness and readiness to intervene remain essential for safe operation in all conditions.

Changing the Advanced Park settings

To personalize the behavior of the Subaru Solterra Advanced Park system, select Subaru Solterra Advanced Park settings icon on the multimedia display, then navigate to the "Advanced Park" menu. This allows detailed adjustment of how the Subaru Solterra performs automated parking and exit maneuvers, ensuring a more tailored and predictable driving experience.

■ Remote Park (if equipped)

The Remote control function of the Subaru Solterra can be activated or deactivated as needed. This feature enables or disables the ability to control parking operations remotely via a smartphone, offering flexibility depending on user preference and driving environment.

■ Speed profile

You can configure the operating speed at which the Subaru Solterra performs parking assistance. Adjusting this setting allows you to choose between smoother, slower maneuvers or slightly quicker responses. Note that this parameter cannot be modified while registering a parking space in the memory function.

■ Obstacle detection range

The Subaru Solterra allows you to define how early the system begins detecting and avoiding obstacles. Increasing this range enhances safety margins, while reducing it allows tighter maneuvering in confined parking spaces.

■ Preferred parking method

You can preselect the default parking style (perpendicular forward/reverse or parallel) that the Subaru Solterra prioritizes when multiple parking options are available. This helps streamline the selection process during real-world parking scenarios.

■ Preferred parking direction

This setting determines whether the Subaru Solterra will favor forward or reverse entry when perpendicular parking is possible, allowing you to match your preferred parking habits.

■ Preferred exit direction (perpendicular)

Choose the default direction (left or right, forward or reverse) that the Subaru Solterra will use when exiting a perpendicular parking space, improving convenience in tight or busy environments.

■ Preferred exit direction (parallel)

When exiting from a parallel parking position, this option lets you define whether the Subaru Solterra should prioritize exiting to the left or right, depending on traffic flow and road layout.

■ Camera view when parking

The viewing angle of the camera system during parking maneuvers can be customized. This ensures that the Subaru Solterra provides the most useful perspective based on driver preference and parking conditions.

■ Camera view when exiting

Similarly, you can adjust the camera display angle when the Subaru Solterra is exiting a parking space, helping improve visibility and situational awareness during departure.

■ Parking path adjustment

The trajectory followed by the Subaru Solterra during parking assistance can be fine-tuned inward or outward. This is especially useful if tire wear or road conditions cause slight deviations from the intended center position.

■ Road width adjustment

This parameter controls how much lateral movement the Subaru Solterra performs while advancing into a parking space, allowing better adaptation to narrow or wide road conditions.

■ Park position adjustment (forward)

The final stopping position for forward perpendicular parking can be adjusted to better align the Subaru Solterra within the parking space. This setting is not available when using the memory function.

■ Park position adjustment (reverse)

Likewise, you can fine-tune the final stopping position when reversing into a parking space, ensuring optimal placement of the Subaru Solterra.

■ Rear accessory setting

If rear-mounted accessories such as a trailer hitch are installed, this setting allows the Subaru Solterra to account for the additional length. This helps prevent unintended contact with obstacles behind the vehicle.

■ Clear registered parking space

Stored parking locations in the memory function can be deleted through this option. Note that deletion is not possible while the Subaru Solterra is actively performing parking assistance or while registering a new parking space.

The Subaru Solterra Advanced Park customization menu provides a high level of control, allowing drivers to adapt the system to personal preferences and real-world conditions. Proper adjustment of these settings can significantly enhance both safety and ease of use during automated parking operations.

NOTICE

Changing the Remote Park app settings (if equipped)

■ SUBARU Parking Assist warning sound ON/OFF (Smartphone setting)

The warning sound notifications of the SUBARU Parking Assist system can be enabled or disabled directly through the Remote Park app on your smartphone. This allows Subaru Solterra users to tailor alerts based on their preference and environment.

■ SUBARU Parking Assist warning sound volume adjustment (Smartphone setting)

The volume level of warning alerts generated by the Subaru Solterra Parking Assist system can also be adjusted via the Remote Park application. This ensures optimal audibility whether in quiet surroundings or noisy environments.

Advanced Park Displayed messages

The Subaru Solterra Advanced Park system continuously provides status updates, guidance prompts, and warnings via the multimedia display. Whenever a message appears, it is essential to follow the instructions shown to ensure safe and correct operation of the system.

■ If "No available parking space" is displayed

This message indicates that the Subaru Solterra cannot detect a suitable parking space in the current position. Carefully reposition the vehicle to an area where parking lines or boundaries are clearly visible to the system.

■ If "Unavailable in current condition" is displayed

The system has determined that current conditions are not suitable for operation. Move the Subaru Solterra to a different location with more favorable surroundings and attempt to use Advanced Park again.

■ If "Not enough space to exit" is displayed

This message appears when the Subaru Solterra does not have sufficient clearance to perform a parallel exit maneuver. This may occur if nearby vehicles are parked too closely or if obstacles are present in the intended exit path. Carefully check the surroundings and exit manually if necessary.

■ If "Cannot control speed" is displayed

The system has detected that it cannot safely regulate vehicle speed, often due to uneven terrain such as slopes or steps. In this case, Advanced Park assistance is canceled. For proper operation, use the Subaru Solterra in a flat and stable environment.

■ If "Obstacle detected" is displayed

When the Subaru Solterra detects a potential collision risk with a moving or stationary object, the system activates EV output restriction and braking control, temporarily suspending assistance. Inspect the surrounding area carefully, and when safe, resume operation by selecting the "Start" button on the display.

■ If "No available parking space to register" is displayed

This message is shown when Subaru Solterra Advanced Park register parking space icon is selected in an area where the system cannot identify a valid parking space.

To resolve this, move the Subaru Solterra to a location where road surface markings, boundaries, or spatial differences are clearly detectable, allowing accurate parking space registration.

The Subaru Solterra Advanced Park system is designed to enhance convenience and safety, but its effectiveness depends heavily on environmental conditions and proper usage. Understanding system messages and responding appropriately ensures a smoother and more reliable automated parking experience.
