Mazda 3 Service Manual: Bass Box Inspection
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable..
2. Disconnect the connector..
3. Verify the resistance between bass-box terminals.

If not within the specification, replace the bass-box.

3. Remove the short-cord.
4. Remove the bolt.
5. Remove the bass-box.

When the engine is hot, it can badly burn. Turn off the engine and wait until
it is cool before removing the ECT sensor.
