The Subaru Solterra is equipped with a rear camera-based detection system capable of identifying pedestrians behind the vehicle while reversing. When a pedestrian is detected and the system determines that collision risk is elevated, an audible warning is issued. If the danger becomes critical, automatic braking is applied to help reduce collision severity and protect vulnerable road users.
Examples of system operation
This function becomes active when the Subaru Solterra detects a pedestrian behind the vehicle during reverse motion and braking input is insufficient or delayed.
Screen display of pedestrians rear of the vehicle
When a pedestrian is identified within the detection zone, the Subaru Solterra displays clear visual alerts and prompts the driver to react promptly.

The system activates when the Subaru Solterra meets all of the following conditions:
■ The Parking Support Brake function (pedestrians rear of the vehicle) will stop operating when

■ Detection area of the Parking Support Brake function (pedestrians rear of the vehicle)
The Subaru Solterra pedestrian detection range for the Parking Support Brake differs from that of the RCD system. As a result, even if the rear camera detection (RCD) identifies a pedestrian and issues a warning, the Parking Support Brake may not always activate, depending on position, distance, and system judgment.
The Subaru Solterra combines radar and camera technologies to provide layered protection while reversing, but drivers must always remain attentive and ready to intervene in dynamic environments.
